Reviews for The Custard Kid (#1191)

Review by The Dean of Games on 12 May 2011 (Rating: 3)

1985 New Generation (UK)

Atic Atac meets Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.
Our hero has to find 12 recipes in a giant 600 room maze custard factory. Objects must be used, gadgets utilized.
Nothing new here, except for the bleak and somewhat violent features in some rooms and the fact that up to 4 people can play together. If you like big maze style games this may be for you.

Arcade/adventure with billions of keys and doors and an Atic Atac view, from the celing, with walls and doors that look like sloping toward the floor.
There are lots of wooden boxes to be opened, containing some theoretically useful objects, keys or, if you're unlucky, green monsters that chase you through the screens,
or a policeman arresting you. The aim? I don't know.
It's not that bad. But I don't like it.

It's Atic Atac basically and that game is miles better, this as a clone is a bif naff and doesn't do it justice. All this does is remind you that Atic Atac is a better game and you should go play that instead.
