Reviews for Herbert's Dummy Run (#2295)

Review by The Dean of Games on 09 Jun 2011 (Rating: 4)

1985 - Mikrogen

by David Perry

The fourth game in the Wally Week series.

Herbert got lost in a large department store while shopping with Wally and Wilma (Mum and Dad).
Being Herbert a little baby he sees the store as a scary.

Ypur main job is to guide Herbert to the store until he finds the lost children office where Wally and Wilma are waiting for him.

On the way objects can be picked up to help Herbert.
Some rooms are like arcade sub-games and you have to complete them
to finish the game.

That's just more of the same. In my opinion the worst (or less good) game in the Wally Week series, mainly because of its lack of originality, just the same game concept as in Pyjamarama but with different character and places.

This time, the younger in the family, Herbert, is lost in a department stores. He must find his parents using and combining objects he finds everywhere.

If you love Pyjamarama (I do) you'll love Herbert's Dummy Run.

If you do not have a guide about what to do, it can take you eons to finish this game.

The game is very good from the technical point of view, it even include some minigames in some sections that you might also like ( I remember a invaders clone!)

It is a videadventure with very beautiful grpahics and a extremly good treatment of the colour ( considering the limitations of the spectrum due to the clash).

A marvellous to see, but a nightmare to success on it!

Nevertheless I think it is still playable.
