Reviews for Nemesis the Warlock (#3387)

Review by Fandabidozi on 29 Aug 2013 (Rating: 4)

I'm a huge Nemesis fan and this game doesn't disappoint. Hacking away at Torquemada's minions is great gory fun and the limited ammo available for your gun adds some strategy. Graphics however atmospheric are quite blurry. Be pure! Be vigilant! Behave!

An average platformer with confusing graphics and poor movements , but still playable . Worth a look !

2,5 / 5 .

Lately I've re-played a good old slaughterer that I used to like or not to dislike, like Nemesis The Warlock [Martech], with its single screen levels, full of platforms and the corpses of your enemis that merrily pile up: and the heart squeezing hand signaling your death, which horrified me a bit when I was a kid.

4/5

I was totally unimpressed with this. I found it hard to hit my enemies unless a fired a bullet at them and you have a limited supply of them, so when I ran out it usually meant death. I imagine the other versions like the C64 version play better than this.

Nemesis is OK I suppose, wish it had a little more substance though. I like that the corpses of the vanquished remain onscreen, but it's a single screen game, not like it would take too much memory, infact it's part of the gameplay on later levels.

After decades I'm left wondering will there ever be an above average game based on something from 2000AD?

Let's look at that anyway...

Judge Dredd....Crap!

Strontium Dog....Crap!

Slaine….Could've been great, but ended up crap!

Rogue Trooper, average at best and really easy, so let's say it's crap!

Shame it's a cursed IP I think? Even years later the Rogue Trooper game on PS2 was average, and a little bit, well....Erm…..Crap to be honest.
