Reviews for Star Warrior (#4840)

From the same bloke who brought you the frustratingly annoying Astro Blaster comes this easier-to-tolerate-yet-equally-frustrating offering. There's not much to this game in fact, it get tedious pretty much from the moment you start playing when you spend at least 5 minutes not being able to fire at anyone because they are on one side and you're on the other side.

And what is it with this guy and BOULDERS!! I already nearly had a fit with them in Astro Blaster, thankfully they are a lot more tolerable.

But this is what makes this game stand out, the third bit is like a maze-type-thingy where you collect an item and have to return it to the ship, quite basic but definately different for this type of game and add variety to it.

Definately better than Astro Blaster, only a bit but definately better.

Another shoot-em-up from J.E. This one was unknown to me (thanks Raphie).
The game looks neater and better well programmed. It may seem easy but it will fool you.
Stage one is the easier, stage two (again a meteor shower) may be tricky but nothing special, stage three is diferent from this kind of Galaxian games, its too simple, although fun to play, I love that crazy ball!
You have more movement keys than on Astroblaster, up and down is now possible, but the choice of controls is not the best. I also found the firing key not too responsive.
Like Astro Blaster the game is furious, specialy stage 3, and its a joy to play if you have the right type of patience.

3 stage game
Stage 1 a precision shooter - precision in that you need to wait for your last shot to leave the screen before you are permitted to fire again. At a certain point I played this stage whilst drinking tea.Main challenge is seeing the return fire, but you can normally guess where it is. The enemies here may be sea urchins.
Stage 2 you must drift to the bottom of the screen without colliding with asteroids. No firing here.
Stage 3 is a mad maze dash to get what I think is fuel for your craft and return without being boinged by a nutty sphere baddie.
Then its back to the shooting range only the urchins are now gstrings.
