Reviews for Bionic Ninja (#535)

Review by Raphie on 24 Jul 2013 (Rating: 3)

What can be said about Bionic Ninja? Well for starters it at least has something to do with ninjas...not entirely sure if it's a "bionic" one or not but at least we have a ninja. And it is quite a simple game to get into but it's pretty slow scrolling wise. Plus they are generous with lives for a reason, because there are certain points to the game where no matter what you are going to be hit, crouch down you get hit, jump you get hit, you are struck with unavoidable bullets...now that is unfair.

Bionic Ninja isn't a bad game really, it's just bland.

You already know from the original title that you're in for an exciting experience.
It's a shallow and tedious shoot'em up/beat'em up with scrolling and some jumping, served with an unattractive
black and white graphics, so easy that I've finished the first level at the first attempt, started a second level that looked identical to the first, and interrupted the playing for lack of motivation.
2/5

I'll start by saying this is one of the blandest arcade beat 'em ups I've played so far.
The B&W theme doesn't help, neither does the uninspired background, which is just slightly different from level to level and none of which particularly appealing.
The gameplay is slow and repetitive.
There is little to motivate in playing this bland, deja vu, done better before game.

Booooring. I found myself sleeping even before finishing the first map.

If you really want some monochrome sidescrolling action game, go try "Ninja Commando" instead (it's from Brian Cross too). That game is much harder, but it's more fun to play.
