1991 US Gold (UK)
by Chris Shay

After such a good released, this one really falls short as a sequel to Commando.
You can tell the programmer spent a lot of time with the backgrounds, and overall the graphic section is fairly decent, but unfortunately this is another colour clash victim and a really messy one.
Another problem are the movements which seem to happen in block instead of the pixel smoothness.
The game is playable, but far from the quality of other similar releases.

2,5 stars.

A US Gold Capcom conversion from Tiertex, usually not a good sign, but this one was a surprise. This is the official sequel to Commando and it's not a patch on the orginal at all which was a problem with the arcade game as a whole. This port however kind of holds up, again not a patch on the original and the graphics are quite crude and could have been better for 1991 standards, but it's playable and is a bit alright. Especially when you consider what US Gold done with Final Fight the same year which I will cover one day in the future, when you consider what they did with E-SWAT a year earlier. Those two games are horrid and this is far far better than those two games and this is a Tiertex developed game, those two weren’t. This may look as crude but it has the playability this two severely lacked. So definitely not the worst Capcom port and Tiertex developed game by any means.
